Migrant Women Association Malta has had the exciting opportunity to take part in the ‘Women Without Borders’ (WWB) project. This initiative was coordinated by Sintagmi Impresa Sociale in Italy and involves a collaboration with Casa Seis in Portugal, as well as MWAM in Malta.
This was an inspiring, transformative experience working against gender-based discrimination and violence through a transnational network of support.

Aim
- Eradicate gender-based discrimination and violence through inclusive educational processes that empower women and foster gender equality.
- Enhance the capacity of women, educators, and professionals to foster intercultural competence and effectiveness.
- Create a transnational network for future development.
Activities
WWB involved transnational learning activities for women and edcucation to develop an educational strategy towards the prevention of discrimination and violence, including Informal learning experiences at local level. The project also entailed the deliver of educational resources to be disseminated among educators and institutions.
The project involved many exciting activities across the three countries. We were fortunate to be able to host activities here in Malta. Through these initiatives, the Women Without Borders project continues to inspire change and help towards a future free from gender-based discrimination and violence.
Booklet
As part of the project, the Women Without Borders collective produced a booklet for those who want to address sex and gender-based violence through a feminist lens. This e-book is a patchwork of voices from women of different backgrounds, highlighting deeply ingrained issues which continue to face women across the world.
