Projects

Migrant Women Association Malta works follows different lines of action to achieve its objective of strengthening the capacities of refugee, asylum-seekers and migrant women in order to promote their comprehensive development. Among our projects are the Emergency Campaign for covid19, Sahha! and Women’s Wings.

EMERGENCY CALL COVID19

MWAM started a campaign against the clock on March 26th. A campaign ready to respond to the needs of all migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking women and women who are most vulnerable to sexual and gender-based violence due to the health crisis. Helping someone means helping their immediate environment, so through this campaign MWAM managed to support  women thus in many cases, also ended up  supporting their children and families.
MWAM works in collaboration with other entities that deliver food and meals, as well as individuals who have want to collaborate and make donations.
Some of the services MWAM provides are :

  1. The delivery of food, prepared meals,
  2. Coverage of basic supplies,
  3. Employment guidance;
  4. Translation;
  5. Accompaniment in this crisis process at all levels.

SAHHA! KITCHEN

SAHHA!’s Kitchen Project entails, amongst other things, the organization of events and hence, the gathering of people. Because of the COVID-19 Emergency, unfortunately, all of SAHHA! activities and events are suspended until further notice. MWAM  hopes the situation will get better soon, and SAHHA! will be back stronger than ever with new delicious menus and amazing events!

Wishing you all good health!

SAHHA! KITCHEN

Many migrant women in Malta possess cooking skills, yet they seek other opportunities to empower themselves and to support their families. The SAHHA project envisions the empowerment of migrant women through a catering project named “SAHHA!”. International, healthy ethnic dishes will be served to the Maltese public, with a cuisine that reflects the different nationalities of the migrant women in Malta.
